Fashion Publishing Blog Post #3: Product Review, Glossier Boy Brow

Upon the announcement of Glossier being valued at more than $1 billion, it is only fitting that I share my absolute favorite product by the brand: Boy Brow. Coined as the all-in-one brow fluffer, filler, and shaper, Boy Brow is offered in four shades: black, brown, blonde, and clear. Boy Brow thickens, fills in, and forces those you can tell I had a really good night’s sleep stragglers to hold in place. As someone who doesn’t usually wear a full face of makeup, I am the perfect target customer for Glossier’s natural, no makeup look.

I was very hesitant to hop on the Glossier train, but once I got past all of the hype, the millennial pink, and tried the products for myself I realized that all of the buildup was worth it. If you don’t believe me, Boy Brow has also been awarded for Allure Best of Beauty 2016 and 2015 Game Changers. Every morning—no matter if I am putting on a full face of makeup or just rolling out of bed to head to class—I use Glossier’s Boy Brow. Before Boy Brow, I would use a small angled brush and eyeshadow to fill in my eyebrows every day, recommended by my longtime eyebrow girl. This process was tedious and would often lend my brows too being too dark. After using Boy Brow for four months, I went in to get my brows plucked (no, it doesn’t hurt) and my aesthetician was so impressed at the improvement in the overall growth and thickness of my brows. So, not only is Boy Brow a daily fix, but it improves the health and look of your brows overtime. As Glossier says, “brush your teeth, brush your brows, and then maybe brush your hair.”

My favorite part about Boy Brow is that it is a one-step process and is super easy to use. I am not someone who is a makeup expert by any means, but with one swipe of Boy Brow I am ready to start my day. The product costs $16 to purchase online, or in one of their showrooms, and lasts me usually three to four months. The price is both a pro and a con because you can only purchase the product online or in a Glossier showroom. On glossier.com you need to spend $30 to get free shipping. To purchase in person you need to be in New York City or LA to go to one of the showrooms and avoid the shipping minimum. But let’s face it—once you walk into the showroom you’ll be leaving with more than $30 worth of product. If you’re like me, you’ll just stock up and buy two tubes of Boy Brow at once.
